Intel to extend warranty on 13th and 14th generation desktop processors

Ana sayfa / News

Intel is taking an important step to address stability issues with its 13th and 14th generation desktop processors. With the “Intel warranty” extension program, the warranty on these processors will be extended by two more years for a total of five years. This move shows the company’s commitment to resolving the current issues.

Intel has announced that it will extend the warranty on boxed 13th and 14th generation processors for an additional two years. With this change, users will have a total of five years of warranty. Especially for Special Edition KS models, the warranty period has been extended to three years. However, Intel has not yet shared the exact details of this new warranty extension program, and it remains unclear when customers will begin accepting faulty processors. This information will be released “in the coming days”.

Intel has confirmed that high voltages contributed to these issues, but is still conducting investigations to understand exactly why these chips failed. The company is also trying to find ways to easily detect affected processors in end users’ systems and will provide guidance on this soon.

What should you do if your CPU is affected? If you purchased a boxed CPU, you should contact Intel Customer Support immediately, as the upcoming microcode patch will not fix the crash issue on affected products. However, those who purchased systems from OEM/System Integrators should contact their manufacturer’s support team. Intel’s official statement is below:

In the meantime, users who are currently or previously experiencing signs of instability in their Intel Core 13th and 14th generation desktop systems:

– Users who purchased systems from OEM/System Integrators – please contact your system manufacturer’s support team for further assistance.

Intel is also exploring options that can easily identify affected processors in end-user systems and will provide additional guidance as soon as possible. We apologize for the delay in communication as it takes time to resolve this complex issue and find a definitive root cause.”
